Exultate Choir & Orchestra celebrates the music of welsh composer, Paul Mealor, in performances of his Oratorio “Crucifixus” for choir, orchestra and baritone soloist. Philip Zawisza will be the baritone. The concert also includes other Mealor well-loved choral works. The composer will travel from the British Isles and be in attendance at all performances. Paul Mealor was catapulted to international stardom in April 2011, when 2.5 billion people (the largest audience in broadcasting history) heard his motet, “Ubi Caritas” performed by the choirs of Westminster Abbey and Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal at the Royal Wedding Ceremony of His Royal Highness Prince William and Catherine Middleton. It since topped the Classical singles charts in the USA, UK, Australia, France and New Zealand. Paul Mealor is always composing and his music is heard and performed all over the world. Exultate has performed several of his works in the past and recorded his “Stabat Mater” which has received critical acclaim. At these concerts, Paul will talk about his musical endeavors and the compositions which will be performed. His story-telling is famous and you will be delighted with his wit and humor as he introduces you to his world and his wonderful compositions.
